Program of your guided hike in Corsica
Day 1: Zicavo - Bassetta
We welcome you in Ajaccio early in the morning and transfer you to the village of Zicavo via winding mountain roads. This first day of hiking takes us to the Bassetta Inn on the Cuscionu plateau. Night in a dormitory at the Bassetta bergeries.
Duration: 5 hours / Ascent: +750 meters / Descent: -100 meters
Day 2: Hike on the Cuscionu Plateau via Frauletu
We hike on the Cuscionu plateau, a mountainous area crisscrossed with numerous pozzines, making it a true haven of peace where we encounter various wild animals and a rich flora! Night at the Croce Bergeries.
Duration: 5 hours and 30 minutes / Ascent: +520 meters / Descent: -520 meters
Day 3: Ascension of Monte Alcudina
We join the famous GR 20 to climb the Incudine (2134 m), the southernmost of Corsica's "2000s." The view of the Bavella Needles is exceptional. Night at the Croce Bergeries.
Duration: 6 hours and 30 minutes / Ascent: +920 meters / Descent: -920 meters
Day 4: Croce - Quenza
We hike through the villages of Alta Rocca on the Mare a Mare Sud trails, maintained by the Regional Natural Park of Corsica. Our day ends in the village of Quenza.
Duration: 5 hours / Ascent: +410 meters / Descent: -630 meters
Day 5: Quenza - Bavella
We ascend the Asinao valley and, via the alpine variant of the GR 20, traverse the Bavella Needles. This alpine route in a breathtaking setting leaves us with unforgettable memories. Night at the Bavella Col Lodge.
Duration: 6 hours / Ascent: +850 meters / Descent: -550 meters
Day 6: Ascension of Punta Velaco
Shaded by Laricci pines, we make our way to the famous Trou de la Bombe, carved into the granite by erosion. The trail becomes steeper as we reach the promontory of Punta Velacu. From the summit, we discover the high mountains to the north and the Gulf of Porto Vecchio at our feet, cutting into the backdrop of the Mediterranean. Transfer back to Ajaccio.
